I heard this song on the classic rock station the other day and had to look it up. I thought it was kind of funny talking about “cutting my hair”. I guess back then it was kind of a big deal for guys to have long hair around corporate or conservative type folks. I like it also because it talks about being down “in that sunny southern weather”. I live in Florida and it has been MISERABLE lately. Temperatures in the 100 degree range and humidity that could suffocate a cow!
Almost cut my hair
It happened just the other day
It’s gettin’ kind of long
I could’ve said it was in my wayBut I didn’t and I wonder why
I feel like letting my freak flag fly
And I feel like I owe it, yeah … to someoneMust be because I had the flu for Christmas
And I’m not feeling up to par
It increases my paranoia
Like looking in my mirror and seeing a police carWell I’m not giving in an inch to fear
You know I’ve promised myself this year
Well, I feel like I owe it, I owe it to someone
Oh … like I owe it to someoneInstrumental (Electric Guitar)
Oh yeah when I get myself together
You can find me in that sunny southern weather, yeahI’m goin’ to find a space inside to laugh,
Separate the wheat from the chaff
Oh, and I feel …
Like I owe it, yeah … to someone

Have a great weekend, and remember… think twice, guys before you cut your hair! Whenever I decide to cut mine again I’m going to try and bring back The Mullet. 🙂
