Google PR : Getting Under The Hood

|

We all know about the infamous Google PR (Page Rank), right? It’s a scale of 1 – 10 that is basically a score of how popular Google thinks your site is. I’m a programmer so I started thinking, how do they determine this? I know it’s based a lot on back-links and good content, but what are the actual formulas? I want specifics!

Well, after a brief search I found a really good article on the subject written by a fellow named Ian Rogers. His article is The Google Pagerank Algorithm and How It Works.

Now this article is not for the feint of heart. There is plenty of math involved so if you are more of the English and History type then you may want to pass. However, if number crunching is your game, then by all means check it out! I learned a lot on the topic and am a better man for it. Well, probably not… but at least I understand the Google PR a bit more. Cheers!
